“ARGON LASER” TO THE INSTITUTE FOR OPHTHALMOLOGY OF THE CLINICAL CENTER OF SERBIA

Belgrade, 19 May 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine delivered today the donation of “Argon” laser worth € 20,000 to the Institute for Ophthalmology of the Clinical Center of Serbia.

The doctors who gathered in the amphitheatre of the Institute were addressed by Their Royal Highnesses and the general manager of the Ophthalmology Clinic Prof. Dr. Slobodan Golubovic.

Princess Katherine expressed her hope that this laser will help in the work of this top medical institution and to the better treatment of the patients.

After the press conference, TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine officially delivered the “Argon” laser. On behalf of the staff and the patients, general manager Prof. Dr. Slobodan Golubovic thanked for the donation.

“Argon” laser is the donation of Their Royal Highnesses’ friend, Dr. Spiros Georgaras from Greece, who also helped in sending three ophthalmologists from this Clinic to the Ophthalmology Congress in Greece this February, through successful cooperation with the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

At the end of this visit, Their Royal Highnesses called upon the surgical and children’s ward of the Institute, spending some time in conversation with the young patients and their parents.
