NEW DONATIONS TO THE INSTITUTE FOR NEONATOLOGY Belgrade 24 May 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited the Institute for neonatology today, and delivered the new donation of six ‘’Fujicu” air conditioners (€ 9,000), one “Braun” infusion pump (€ 2,000), and one “Draeger” mobile respirator (€ 5,000). Beside Their Royal Highnesses the ceremony of delivering of the donation was attended by Prof Dr Richard Polin form New York and Prof. Dr Marija Glibetic, a neonatologist from Detroit. On the behalf of the Institute and its doctors and nurses, Their Royal Highnesses were greeted by the general manager of the Institute Prof Dr Slobodanka Ilic, who thanked them for the donation. This equipment will help this Institute that is the only of the kind in Serbia providing necessary help for prematurely born children. In short address to their hosts TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine invited everyone, and especially Diaspora, to find the means to help institutions like this in providing the necessary equipment. This valuable was rallied during the great humanitarian event in “Ekali” Club in Athens this March, organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine. It is only the first part of the aid to the Institute and the second part consisting of incubators, work tables for babies and aspirators will be delivered by the end of June. Finishing their visit Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine took a tour of the intensive care ward with about twenty premature babies. |
