HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II LAID WREATH ON THE TOMB OF KING ALEXANDER OBRENOVIC ON THE OCCASION OF 100 YEARS SINCE HIS ASSASSINATION Belgrade, 29 May 2003 - TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine together with His Grace Bishop of Sabac and Valjevo Lavrentije, Crown Council member Prof. Dr Dragoljub Kavran and the priests of St. Marko Church, laid wreath and lit candles on the tomb of the last Royal couple from Obrenovic Dynasty on the occasion of 100 years since their tragic death. Through this symbolic act HRH Crown Prince Alexander wanted to express his hope that the period of great historical temptations and turmoil in Serbia is finally over, and that after a whole century of deep and tragic divisions in Serbian society, our people face a better stable future. Crown Prince Alexander once more emphasized that only through unity and the traditions of continuity with our historical roots we can build a stable, modern and democratic European state. In his statement to the numerous media representatives HRH Crown Prince Alexander II said:”I insist on respect for all citizens regardless of their political orientation, or religious and ethnic origin”. |
