EIGHTEENTH COORDINATIVE MEETING OF NGOs AND GOVERNMENT REPRESENTATIVES AT THE WHITE PALACE

Belgrade, 30 June 2003 – Organized by HRH Crown Princess Katherine and attended by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II at The White Palace today, there was the eighteenth coordinative meeting of the Government representatives, Commissariat for Refugees, international NGOs, UN agencies and organizations, local and international Red Cross and the wives of the Ambassadors accredited in Serbia and Montenegro.

Today’s meeting was dedicated to the present and the future humanitarian activities. A question was raised of the line between direct and humanitarian aid. Special attention of the present was paid to development projects

The meeting was also attended by the guest of Their Royal Highnesses, Professor Emeritus of the university of Geneva and the Chairman of the European Cultural Center Mr. Dusan Sindjanski.

The participants were addressed by the Head of the Head of the Unit of the Development and Aid Coordination Unit (DACU) of the Ministry of International Economic Relations Mrs. Maja Sijan Mitrovic, Professor Emeritus of the university of Geneva and the Chairman of the European Cultural Center Mr. Dusan Sindjanski and the advisor for privatization of the University of Harvard Mrs. Lillian Milosavljevic Kuk, who introduced them with the humanitarian activities and the future plans for bringing aid to those who need it most.

The next meeting was scheduled for 22 July 2003.
