THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES VISIT POZAREVAC
New donations worth € 20,000 delivered

 

Belgrade, 3 July 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, accompanied by their guest Mr. Neil Gow, visited Pozarevac today and delivered new donations worth € 20,000.

The Crown Prince and Crown Princess were welcomed by the Mayor of Pozarevac Mr. Slavoljub Matic. He pointed out Their Royal Highnesses were the hosts, not the guests in Pozarevac, and that they have shown by their personal example how one can help one’s own people. In a short meeting that followed, current situation in this municipality and the region was presented by the representatives of the Church, educational institutions, public figures and businessmen from Pozarevac and Branicevo region.

In his addressing the Crown Prince expressed his hope that the period of true progress and development is ahead of us, emphasizing the necessity to create jobs for the young professionals who are the future of our country, and added that the Royal House is always there to help in bringing investors from the world who are willing to help our people by investing into Serbia.

Continuing the visit to Pozarevac, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess went to the Gallery of Milena Pavlovic – Barilli. The curator, Mrs. Jelica Milojkovic greeted the distinguished guests and took them on a tour of the exhibition of the works and personal belongings of one of the most important Serbian painters in the period between the two World Wars.

Their Royal Highnesses then visited “Bambi” concern where they were welcomed by the deputy general manager Mr. Konstantin Lekic. The guests saw one of the production lines and were introduced with the plans of this health food manufacturer.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander II thanked for the warm welcome to the management of “Bambi” and pointed out that only through creating new jobs, applying advanced technology and modernization of production we can join developed countries and become a part of the great European family again.

“Our future is in our work, education and young people, and it is up to us to enable them to stay in the country” – emphasized the Crown Prince.

Then followed visit to the Health Center where the Crown Prince and Crown Princess were welcomed by the general manager Dr. Petar Lilovic. He thanked the distinguished guests for fulfilling their promise given two weeks earlier during their previous visit, to provide the necessary equipment for the hospital. Total value of the delivered donation is €20,000 and it consists of a ECG, warm baby tables, photo lamp, gynecological beds and four air conditioners.

The present were addressed by Princess Katherine who expressed hope that the donation will be of help to this health institution. Their Royal Highnesses took a tour of the hospital and spent some time talking to the patients.

After the Health Center followed a visit to the Center for development challenged children, where the Crown Prince and Crown Princess delivered a donation of new clothes, that was rallied during the humanitarian program “Good Deeds are Always in Fashion” organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and “YUTEF”.

The Princess who was obviously excited addressed the young protégés of the Home and pointed out she was very happy because the Crown Prince and herself brought joy them and added:

“Children are our greatest wealth and it is the duty of all of to take care of them.”

Their Royal Highnesses spent some time talking to the children and their teachers.
