CHILDREN WITHOUT PARENTAL CARE ON HOLIDAY IN GREECE WITH THE HELP OF THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES Belgrade, 5 July 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine made it possible for more than 60 young protégés from the Homes for children without parental care from all over Serbia to spend this summer in Greece, through mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and “Lifeline Hellas” humanitarian organization. The effectuation of this project was assisted by the Minister of Social Welfare Dr. Gordana Matkovic and her associates and the City of Belgrade, headed by the Mayor, Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic. Transport was provided by the Greek National Railway, allowing 50% discount on the tickets from Belgrade to Athens. The children will go to Greece in groups, during the whole summer, and they will stay in children’s summer camps “Happy Children – Happy Youth” in Agios Georgios in Attica, , a camp run by the Greek NGO “Karitas Hellas” on the island of Syros, “Agios Andreas” in Athens and a camp in Vironas. These children will stay for two or three weeks, learn about our friendly neighbor Greece, and meet the children from all over Europe and make friends with them. The first group is leaving for Greece on Saturday, 5 July, and before they go, the Crown Prince and Crown Princess will receive them at The Royal Palace in Dedinje. The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine provided donations of new clothes, shoes and some pocket money for the children and their stay in Greece. |
