THEIR ROYAL HIGNESSES VISIT SUBOTICA AND THE CONSECRATION OF SAINT ILIJA CHURCH AT PALIC

Belgrade, August 2nd, 2003. – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine visited Municipality of Subotica today.

In Their Royal Highnesses honor, the reception was organized in the office of the Vice-Major Mr. Saša Vučinić, which what also attended by  the President of the Subotica Executive Council Mr. Arpad Pap and Chief of the Protocol Mr. Laslo Horvat.

Their Royal Highnesses found out more about developing plans of this Municipality, where many of the nationalities and religions live together in unity.

In front of the Municipality Crown Prince and Princess talked to the people, who expressed their wish to greet the Royal couple and  use the opportunity to take the photographs together.

After that, Crown Prince and Princess went to Palic, where they took part in the consecration of the orthodox church devoted to Saint Ilija.

Liturgy was performed by His Grace Bishop of Backa Irinej with other priests, and this ceremonious event was attended by: Vice-president of the Government Jožef Kasa, representatives of the Serbia and Montenegro Army, Police and the Ministry of Religion and public life.

At the end of the liturgy, awards were presented to most meritious donors who, all in their way, helped the construction of this church.
