NEW DONATIONS TO THE CLINICAL CENTER ZVEZDARA

Belgrade, 26 August 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Clinical Center Zvezdara today, where they delivered a donation of mobile incubator, warm baby table and ECG machine, in the total value of €10,000.

For the third time Their Royal Highnesses deliver donations to this Center which has one of the five maternity wards in Belgrade. The distinguished guests were warmly welcomed by the general manager Dr. Zoran Ivankovic with his associates, who thanked them for the donation, particularly having in mind that all the equipment was urgently needed, pointing out that the Royal Couple has always helped where it was most needed. Dr. Ivankovic expressed his hope that in due time the Clinical Center Zvezdara will host the Crown Prince and the Crown Prince as dear guests and not just donors.

Upon delivering the donation, Princess Katherine greeted the present doctors and nurses and said that a year before she had visited this hospital with her husband, and had promised she would do everything to help, and that she was there this day to fulfill her promise.

“I hope this equipment will help you in making better the conditions you work in and ease your patients’ stay here”, said Princess Katherine wishing everybody success in their work.

The Princess also announced her visit to the Diaspora where she will appeal for help to our health institutions.

Warm baby table was donated by “LDS Charity” humanitarian organization whose representatives were present during the delivery, and the ECG machine and mobile incubator were provided thanks to friends from Greece as a part of the donation rallied during the dinner at Ecali Club in Athens this March.

After a short conversation with the doctors, Their Royal Highnesses took a tour of the Gynecology, Neonatology and maternity ward.
