DONATION TO VRANJE HEALTH CENTRE Belgrade, 6 September 2003 - TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Prince Katherine visited Health Centre during their stay in Vranje, and delivered a mobile incubator, and later called upon the maternity ward and recently renovated psychiatric ward of the Centre. The incubator is a part of the donation by friends from Greece who attended the great humanitarian event in Athens this March, organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine. Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by the general manager of the Health Centre Mr. Cedomir Stanimirovic who most kindly thanked the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine for the co-operation that has been going on for two years now and for all the help this Centre has received so far. "This mobile incubator will help the struggle for life of many babies whose chances for survival are reduced without such equipment", said Mr. Stanimirovic. In her address to the doctors, nurses and media, Princess Katherine said: " I know the shortage of equipment is one of the biggest problems you have been facing during the last ten years, but my husband Crown Prince Alexander and I are here to help you as much as we can", announcing her visit to our Diaspora in America where she will present the needs and problems in our health care system, and appeal for urgently needed help. Upon the delivery of the donation the Crown Princess and Crown Princess took a tour of the psychiatric ward, the renovation of which was greatly contributed by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine. |
