Visit to “Tigar” company

Belgrade, 6 September 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine visited Pirot today.

Their Royal Highnesses were warmly welcomed at the Town Hall by the vice-president of the interim Council of the Municipality Mr. Popovic with his associates, who organized a short reception for the distinguished guests and thanked for their effort and help to those who need it most.

“If we all work together and respect each other, we are going to create stability which is necessary if we want foreign investments and partners to come to our country. It is the way to recover our economy and achieve a better tomorrow for us and our posterity”, said the Crown Prince upon his arrival to the Town Hall of Pirot.

During the reception Their Royal Highnesses were interested in the current situation in health care system, education and economy. Princess Katherine announced the visit to Diaspora soon, where she will, together with Crown Prince Alexander II present how people really live here and the still difficult situation, and appeal for help.

Continuing their stay Their Royal Highnesses visited “Tigar” factory, the leading tyre, rubber shoes and chemicals manufacturer in our country. Beside local market, “Tigar” is present in Bulgaria, Greece, the USA, England, Macedonia, Argentine and Republika Srpska. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess were introduced to the company’s business strategy by the deputy general manager Mr. Ljubisa Mitic. After a short video presentation of this company with its 4,730 employees, Their Royal Highnesses took a tour of the production plants, learning about the details of the production process of tyres.

Since “Tigar” has had excellent results recently, the Crown Prince in his conversation with Mr. Mitic expressed his belief that this company will be an example of success to other companies in Pirot region and the whole Serbia.

“That is the way for our entire society to move forward, in pace with the world, and you can always count on our support in those efforts”, said HRH Crown Prince Alexander II.
