HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT PANCEVO, VRSAC, PLANDISTE AND OPOVO

€18,000 WORTH EQUIPMENT FOR HEALTH INSTITUTIONS

Incubators for Pancevo and Vrsac, ambulances for Plandiste and Opovo

Belgrade, 8 September 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Pancevo, Vrsac, Plandiste and Opovo today and delivered €18,000 worth donations to the local health institutions. The Health Centers in Pancevo and Vrsac received mobile incubators, and the ones in Plandiste and Opovo “Yugo Florida” ambulances. The donations were rallied by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine at the great charity event in Athens this March.

Their Royal Highnesses first visited the Town Halls of Pancevo, Vrsac, Plandiste and Opovo. They were welcomed by the municipality officials who talked to them about economy development and priorities in their regions.

Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine then visited the textile factory “Pasaz” from Pancevo, which donated clothes to the children without parental care, within the program “Good Deeds are Always in Fashion”, organized by “YUTEF” and the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine. Their Royal Highnesses also visited the paint factory “Silex” in Pancevo and candy factory “Banat” from Vrsac.

Their Royal Highnesses greeted the citizens of Pancevo, Vrsac, Plandiste and Opovo and thanked them for the warm welcome.

Addressing the citizens and town officials of Pancevo HRH Crown Prince Alexander II emphasized that conditions need to be created for our young people to stay in the country where they were born and apply their knowledge and talent here.

In Vrsac HRH Crown Prince Alexander II pointed out that the way to a better future requires solidarity, tolerance and working together, regardless of ethnic and religious origin or political orientation.

HRH Crown Princess Katherine reminded, addressing the citizens and town officials of Pancevo that every one of us should do as much as possible, for God gave us two hands – one for ourselves, and the other to help the others.

To the citizens of Vrsac the Crown Princess wished more babies to be born in their town, and expressed hope that “the white plague” will be put an end to.
