TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visit Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica

€12,000 TO HEALTH INSTITUTIONS

Visit to the University of Novi Pazar and the biggest elementary school in the country in Sjenica

Belgrade, 9 September 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Novi Pazar, Tutin and Sjenica today.

Through mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, donations to local health centers were delivered : a mobile incubator to the Health Centre Novi Pazar, an ECG to the Health Centre Tutin and a “Yugo Florida” ambulance to the Health Centre Sjenica. Total value of the donations is €12,000, which is a part of the donations rallied at the great charity event at “Ekali Club” in Athens this March.

On this occasion, Their Royal Highnesses visited both Public and State University of Novi Pazar, Town Hall and “Stig” company, while in Sjenica they met the children from “12 December” elementary school.

Their Royal Highnesses first visited Public University of Novi Pazar where they met the Chancellor Mufti Moamer Zukorlic. After that the Crown Prince and Crown Princess were welcomed by the Mayor Mrs. Vasvija Gusinac with her associates, and among the present were the representatives of His Grace Artemije, Bishop of Raska and Prizren.

The host to Their Royal Highnesses was also the Dean of the State University of Novi Pazar Dr. Ilija Rosic with about 200 of his students who gathered to talk to the Crown Prince and Crown Princess.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander emphasized that education was the key to success of any society and it had to have special attention. Their Royal Highnesses have established the Fund for granting the best senior undergraduate students, to help them in their postgraduate studies. The Crown Prince reminded that the only expectation from them was that they did not forget where they came from, when they leave for their studies abroad. With great pleasure he pointed that among the grantees of the Fund was Miss Filduza Prusevic from Novi Pazar.

“Stig” company from Novi Pazar is a part of “YUTEF” association that cooperates with the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine in aiding children and displaced persons, providing them with clothes, which is why the visit to this textile factory in Novi Pazar was of special importance.

At the Health Centre Novi Pazar the Crown Prince and Crown Princess donated the mobile incubator and visited pediatric ward. Princess Katherine once again emphasized that her husband and she were doing as much as possible to create conditions for the babies to be born in health, freedom and equality.

Through mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine Tutin got the ECG, and Sjenica the “Yugo Florida” ambulance.

At the end of their visit, TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine went to “12 December” elementary school, one of the largest in the country, where the pupils performed a short program in honor of Their Royal Highnesses.
