VISIT TO KIKINDA AND SOMBOR

Mobile incubators to Health Centre

Belgrade, 10 September 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Kikinda and Sombor today, where the officials of these municipalities organized receptions for them and were their hosts at important regional companies, candy factory “Banini”, “A.D. Livnica”, dairy “Somboled” and oil factory “Sunce”.

Through mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, the Health Centers received mobile incubators, which is a part of the donations rallied at the great charity event at “Ekali Club” in Athens this March.

Both Health Centers receive donations by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine for the second time. Last year the Health Centre in Kikinda got a mobile X-ray machine worth € 35,000, while Sombor Health Centre got a neonatal incubator worth € 5,000.

The host to Their Royal Highnesses in Kikinda was the Mayor Mr. Dusko Radakovic.

The mobile incubator was donated to the Health Centre in the presence of the media, and Princess Katherine expressed her hope that more babies would be born in Kikinda thanks to it. General manager of the Health Centre Mr. Laza Rajic took the distinguished guests to the gynecology and maternity wards.

Their Royal Highnesses then visited the production plants of “Banini” factory, where they were introduced to its work by the general manager Mr. Radojko Stanic and the factory’ management. The Crown Prince commended the success that this company has achieved in a very short period of time.

“You are an example of how the constant technological advancement achieves continuity in top quality of the products. The formula of success is basically simple, and I hope our entire economy will adopt it as soon as possible: relying on highly professional, dedicated experts, applying new know-how and technology, market orientation as imperative”, said HRH Crown Prince Alexander II at this company.

Continuing the visit to Kikinda Their Royal Highnesses went to “A.D. Livnica” where the general manager Mr. Predrag Bubalo and the management of the company introduced the distinguished guests to the factory’s work, and the Crown Prince expressed his belief that the cooperation with the foreign partner will bring “Livnica” back to European market.

In front of Sombor Town Hall the Mayor Mr. Jovan Vujicic warmly welcomed Their Royal Highnesses who visited “Somboled’ dairy, “Sunce” oil factory and local hospital where they donated a mobile incubator and visited gynecology ward.

In his address to the Town officials of Sombor the Crown Prince emphasized that Sombor, as the cultural centre of Backa region that gave great personages of our literature, music and sport, has a lot to rely on in its rich history, but that one should not forget natural and human potentials that we today have.

At the “Sunce” company the Crown Prince pointed out that adopting the highest standards in production was necessary, as well as investing into marketing and public relations, for it was the way for us to be equal in the world market and show what we have. He also wished the company to fulfill its goals and increase its capacities. The general manager Mr. Vladimir Bordjoski took the distinguished guests for a tour of the production lines where he showed margarine, mayonnaise and ketchup production.

Through mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, the Hospital which was built thanks to King Alexander I and Queen Maria received the donation of a mobile incubator, that will help many children in their struggle for survival.

“Children are our greatest value, and it is the commitment of all of us to put effort in providing all our maternity wards with necessary equipment, and enable our doctors and nurses the means for their work. I know you have been struggling for many years against difficult conditions, but I also know that thanks to your generous efforts many lives were saved”, said Princess Katherine upon delivery of this equipment.

The work of the Health Centre was presented to Their Royal Highnesses by the general manager Mr. Branislav Bojic who showed them gynecology ward that is being renovated at the moment.
