TWENTIETH COORDINATIVE MEETING OF NGOs AT THE WHITE PALACE Second anniversary of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine Belgrade, 12 September 2003 – Organized by HRH Crown Princess Katherine at The White Palace today, there was the twentieth coordinative meeting of the Commissariat for Refugees, international NGOs, UN agencies and organizations, local and international Red Cross. Today’s meeting was dedicated to the second anniversary of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine. The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine in Belgrade was founded in September 2001 and thanks to generous support from the country, it helped many institutions and individuals in our country. “We are proud to say that we were able to assist many of our health institutions, social protection institutions and refugee camps in Serbia and Montenegro. We have expanded our activities oriented toward cultural institutions, schools and universities, and improved communication between our students and experts and their counterparts in the developed countries”, said Princess Katherine opening today’s meeting. For two years now the Foundation has been appealing worldwide for raising the awareness of our country, torn with conflicts that lasted for over a decade. The guest speakers at today’s meeting were the Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Dragan Domazet, Commissioner for refugees Dr. Ozren Tosic, and the representative of the Ministry of International Economic Relationships Mrs. Marija Sijan Mitrovic. The talks that followed were based on the aid of NGOs to the Government institutions, in the matters of social reforms and the needs of refugees in Serbia and Montenegro. The next meeting was scheduled for 20 November 2003, after the visit of TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine to the Diaspora, where they will appeal for help to our country. At the end of the meeting a charity ball organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine was announced for this November.
