CHARITY BALL AT THE WHITE PALACE

Belgrade, 7 November 2003 – The grand charity ball on the occasion of the second anniversary of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine was organized at The White Palace in Dedinje this evening.

This important humanitarian event was attended by the Minister of Science and Technology Mr. Dragan Domazet, representatives of the Diplomatic Corps, donors who have supported the Foundation and the media.

The guests were welcomed by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II who emphasized that The Royal Compound is always open for the people of good will who want to help.

Then the present were addressed by HRH Crown Princess Katherine who thanked them for supporting the Foundation.

“Your generosity will forever stay in the hearts of those to whom your donations will help and in our hearts” – pointed out Princess Katherine.

The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine was founded in Belgrade in September 2001, with the aim to help the neediest. Owing to the generous help from many companies and individuals from our country and abroad, the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine was able to deliver urgently needed humanitarian aid to many hospitals, orphanages and refugee camps in Serbia and Montenegro.

The activities of the Foundation have been expanded and directed to cultural institutions, schools and universities, including scholarships and establishing contacts between our students and foreign experts.

The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine has offices in London, Athens, New York, Chicago, Washington and Toronto, whose aim is to connect our people form Diaspora with the homeland, as well as to cooperate with all people of good will throughout the world.

This charity ball was organized with the wish to cherish and preserve the values of our cultural and historical heritage, in cooperation with the National Folklore Troup “KOLO”, and it will be a reenacting of the balls that used to be organized at our Court.
