TEN YEARS OF THE INSTITUTE FOR PHYSIATRIC MEDICINE AND REHABILITATION

Belgrade, 20 November 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended the celebration of the first ten years of successful work of the Institute for physiatric medicine and rehabilitation at the hotel “Inter- Continental” in Belgrade today

Te ceremony was opened by the performance of our famous choir “Collegium Musicum” conducted by Prof. Darinka Matic Marovic, and then the present were addressed by HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

The Crown Princess pointed out the importance of physiatric medicine and rehabilitation in the patients’ recovery and added:

“During my recent visit to America I have met many prominent physicians who work in rehabilitation and are willing to help our health care system. I also hope I shall be able to help you next year and to make your hard work easier at least for a moment.”

Then followed a documentary showing the work and development of the Institute during its first ten years.

Beside Their Royal Highnesses the celebration was attended by the Deputy Minister of Health Mr. Vasilije Antic, the Belgrade University Chancellor Mrs. Marija Bogdanovic, the deputy general manager of the Clinical Center of Serbia Prof. Dr. Tomica Milosavljevic and the vice-dean of the Medical Faculty Mrs. Ranka Samardzic.
