THEIR ROYAL HIGHNESSES VISIT THE HEALTH CENTER AND THE HOME FOR THE CHILDREN WITHOUT PARENTAL CARE IN UZICE Belgrade, 9 December 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited the Health Center and the Home for the Children without parental care in Uzice today, and delivered donations worth over €12,000. In front of the Health Center Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by the general manager Mr. Darko Marinkovic and the marketing manager of “Galenika” company Miss Gorica Ceranic. TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine delivered a dialysis machine and an ECG in total value of €12,000. The dialysis machine was donated by “Galenika” Company, and the ECG was donated by Mr. Papastolopulous from Greece, at the grand charity ball that was organized on the occasion of the two years of successful work of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, on 7 November. Welcoming the dear guests, the Center’s manger Mr. Darko Marinkovic pointed out that the continuous care and help of The Royal Family to many health institutions has helped to improve the treatment of our patients in an adequate way, alongside the great skills of our doctors and nurses. In her addressing to the present the Crown Princess pointed out that our greatest care is for the health of our people, and especially of the children. Her activities and her humanitarian work have been directed toward that aim for over twelve years. “It is sad how much the people are dependent on us, but it is also wonderful to know that there are so many people who are ready to help in our country” – pointed out the Princess. Then Their Royal Highnesses took the tour of the Health Center escorted by their hosts. After that followed the visit to the Home for the children without parental care where the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess delivered donation of 30 bicycles and clothes. On behalf of the employees of this Home, The Royal Couple were welcomed by the general manager Mrs. Rada Mitrovic who asked the Princess to formally open the new dining room of this Home. The happy children performed a short program for the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess. Their Royal Highnesses enjoyed very much the songs and the dances of the young protégées of the Home for the children without parental care. |
