TRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT UZICE

Belgrade, 10 December 2003 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited Uzice today.

In front of the Town Hall of Uzice Their Royal Highnesses were welcomed by the Mayor Mr. Miroslav Martic and his Deputies Mr. Radislav Pantovic and Mrs. Milojka Sekulic.

At a short reception that was organized in honor of the Crown Prince and the Crown Princess, the Mayor Mr. Martic wished the distinguished guests a warm welcome and introduced them to the history and the development of Uzice, the center of Zlatibor region.

In his addressing to the present the Crown Prince emphasized:

“To revitalize our country we must revive our production, which means creating new jobs. That is the only way if we want to keep the young people here”, and added that Uzice is the town that takes care of its historical heritage, but also works on creating a better future without forgetting about the past.

Continuing their visit to Uzice, Their Royal Highnesses went to “Kadinjaca” company, where they were greeted by the general manager Mr. Petrovic with his associates.

Mr. Petrovic introduced the guests with the work of this factory which is a major textile exporter. This company’s products are well known all over the world by their quality and modern design.

Then the present were addressed by HRH Crown Prince Alexander who emphasized that at this moment our country needs new jobs for the young people if we want them to stay in the country of their ancestors.

“Kadinjaca” company is an example of how giant steps can be taken in conquering local and international market with the help of modern technology. Your example should be followed by the others, in order to attract as many as we can of foreign investors and partners. My wife and I will always be with you and you can always count on our support” – pointed out the Crown Prince.
