THE DAY OF LIBERATION OF BELGRADE IN THE FIRST SERBIAN UPRISING CELEBRATED

Belgrade, 13 December 2003 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, together with the Crown Council member academician Mr. Milorad Pavic and the member of the Legal Council of the Crown Mr. Vladan Gajic, attended the ceremony on the occasion of the Day of Liberation of Belgrade in the First Serbian Uprising, at the City Hall of Belgrade on Friday 12 December.

This ceremony was organized as a part of the celebration of the bicentennial of the First Serbian Uprising when the foundations were laid to the first Serbian democratic state.

Beside the Crown Prince and the members of the advisory bodies of the Crown the ceremony was attended by the representatives of the diplomatic corps and prominent public figures. The celebration was organized by the Endowment Society “The First Serbian Uprising”, and the distinguished guests were welcomed by the Mayor of Belgrade, Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic.

The program was performed by the actors Danica Maksimovic and Lepomir Ivkovic, opera singers Zivan Saramandic, Dusan Jovicic, Mira Jovanovic and Boris Babic, and the choir “Saint Nicholas” conducted by Darko Jovanovic.
