Charity dinner in aid of the modernization of Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade

York, 1942 Charity dinner in aid of the modernization of Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade, under patronage of HRH Crown Prince Alexander II was organized at the Crystal Hall of the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Belgrade on Thursday, 18 December. The letter of greetings from HRH Crown Prince Alexander II was read by Prof. Ivan Antic, the member of the Crown Council. “Nikola Tesla is the most impressive person destined by our people, and one of the greatest minds of all times. A visionary who has indebted the entire mankind by his incredible achievements, he will be remembered in the centuries to come” – said HRH Crown Prince Alexander II in his letter. “When he was 19, and a student, my father met with Tesla in New York in 1942. That meeting was a great honor for my father and left him with an unforgettable impression. He had admiration and deepest respect for our greatest genius” – reminds HRH Crown Prince Alexander in his letter, expressing hope that Tesla will be a role model and an inspiration to the future generations. On behalf of the donors, the present were addressed by the American Ambassador, HE Mr. William Montgomery, and the director of the Museum of Nikola Tesla, Mrs. Marija Sesic thanked the donors. The event was organized by the Students Union of the Electrical Engineering Faculty, Confederation of Liberal and Conservative Students and the Museum of Nikola Tesla, with the aid of the humanitarian organization “Dream Team” and the Tourist Organization of Belgrade. This event, dedicated to the spirit of Tesla’s era, that was meant to help the preserving and promotion of Tesla’s heritage, was attended by many distinguished invitees, members of the diplomatic corps and prominent public figures. |
