CELEBRATION OF THE 80TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CLINIC FOR GYNECOLOGY AND OBSTETRICS Belgrade, 22 December 2003 – The Clinic for Ginecology and Obstetrics in Belgrade celebrated its 80th anniversary today. As the guests of honor, TRH Prince Alexander II Karadjordjevic and his wife Crown Princess Katherine attended the ceremony. With the help of numerous friends and donors, Their Royal Highnesses enabled the realisation of the humanitarian aid provided by the Government and the people of Japan. Beside The Royal Couple, this jubilee was attended by His Holliness Serbian Patriarch Pavle, general managers of all Ginecology clinics in Serbia and Montenegro, as well as the guests from Turkey, Hungary and Greece - Prof. Sinan Beksas, Prof. Aris Ancaklis, Prof. Zoran Belic and Prof. Apostolos Atanasis. Addressing the assembly, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II reminded about the important role that TM King Alexander I Karadjordjevic and his wife, Queen Marija had in founding this clinic, so that today, HRH Crown Prince Aleksandar II as their heir, together with HRH Crown Princess Katherine, continue that humanitarian work and care for their people. HRH Crown Princess Katherine greeted the assembly and thanked for the help from numerous friends who enabled the beginning of the work on the new operation theatre in the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics in Belgrade. After the tour of the construction site, working part of the celebration began, blessed by His Holiness Patriarch Pavle. In the second part of the celebration, held at Belgrade Drama Theatre, the general manager of the Clinic Centre in Belgrade, handed the award to TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, for the long-term proven friendship and generous help. |
