TRADITIONAL FLIGHT CONTROLLERS COMPETITION IN WINTER SPORTS “GOLDEN FLIGHT LEVEL” OPENS AT KOPAONIK Belgrade, 19 January 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, together with HRH Crown Princess Katherine, opened the traditional flight controllers winter sports competition “Golden Flight Level” last night, with over 500 participants from 18 European countries who entered the competition this year. The opening ceremony was organized at the Congress Hall of the “Konak” hotel at Kopaonik. At the beginning, the guests were greeted by the songs and dances of the Cultural Artistic Society “Krsmanac”, and then the present were addressed by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II. He expressed his pleasure for this traditional competition has been organized at the beautiful mountain of Kopaonik, and for it has provided an opportunity for the participants to spend time together in the snow and in the wonderful nature of Kopaonik. “You who control the sky, know how unnecessary the borders on the ground are. This country was closed behind her borders for a long time. That was a great shame for our people, as well as for our guests who were deprived of this lovely nature and enjoying in it. That is why I am happy to see the flight controllers from abroad here today, as an advance party to all who are going to discover this mountain. I also hope that you will be successful on skies today, like you are successful in the sky, and that there will be no forced landings” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his speech and proclaimed the competition opened. |
