ST. SAVA’S DAY CONGRATULATIONS

Belgrade, 27 January 2004 – On the occasion of this holiday dedicated to the first Archbishop and Saint St. Sava the founder of Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbian State and schools. HRH Crown Prince Alexander II sent congratulations to His Holiness Patriarch of Serbia Pavle, the Serbian Minister of Religion Prof. Dr. Vojislav Milovanovic and the Minister of Education and Sport Prof. Dr. Gaso Knezevic.

“Saint Sava, the people’s enlightener and unifier left us his work, to direct and live by it. He reconciled the Serbs with the neighbors, and by establishing Serbian Church, he established Serbian state and culture as well. He brought peace to all Balkan peoples and worked for the good of all, because of which he was respected and loved in his lifetime, as he will be in the centuries to come. He was the teacher of the way to life, true and eternal, for he had enlightened his homeland.

Let the aid and the teachings of Saint Sava stay with us forever” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his letter of congratulations.
