CHRISTOBAL TORAL’S EXHIBITION AT THE “SANU” GALLERY Belgrade, 25 February 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine attended the formal opening of the contemporary Spanish painter Christobal Toral’s exhibition at the “SANU” gallery tonight. This event was organized by the Spanish Embassy in Belgrade. The guests were first greeted by HE the Ambassador of Spain Mr. Mariano Garcia Munoz, and then the present were addressed by the secretary general of the Serbian Academy of Arts and Sciences (SANU) Mr. Nikola Tasic who introduced them to the work of the greatest Spanish 20th century painter Christobal Toral, who is for the first time presented to the Belgrade audience. The exhibition was organized as a part of the program “Spanish Art Abroad’, carried out by the General Administration for Culture and Science of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under patronage of the Spanish Association of the cultural representatives abroad. Beside Their Royal Highnesses the opening of the exhibition was attended by: Deputy of the Minister of culture of Spain Mr. Roberto Varella, Counselour of the Embassy and Director of the “Servantes” Institute Mr. Javier Herqueta Garica, President of SANU Mr. Nikola Hajdin, painter Torell’s wife Mrs. Marisa Oropessa, the representatives of the diplomatic corps, public figures and art lovers.
