THE CHANCELLERY OF
H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE Alexander II
OF YUGOSLAVIA
PLAQUE IN HONOR OF QUEEN MARIA ON THE FACULTY OF ORGANIZATIONAL SCIENCES BUILDING

Belgrade, 11 March 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine unveiled today the plaque in honor of Queen Maria at the Faculty of Organizational Sciences.

The building that used to be a school and today is the home of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences was built in 1935 by the funds provided by HM Queen Maria Karadjordjevic and other Serbian donors. The original plaque was taken off this building and destroyed over twenty five years ago. Following the wish of the professors and students of the Faculty of Organizational Sciences, the plaque was returned as an expression of gratitude to The Royal Family for their care for the young in Serbia.

Addressing the gathered students, professors and invitees, HRH Crown Prince Alexander II pointed at the importance of education in Serbia today:

“I am happy to see that beside the professors the students are here, who in this way show they are aware of their great history, bur also responsible for creation of our better future. This burden can’t be carried by themselves alone, and that is why we are here to help them”, emphasized the Crown Prince in his speech.

Beside Their Royal Highnesses this event was attended by the representatives of the Government, the City Hall, the University of Belgrade and many other distinguished guests.
