CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW PRIME MINISTER OF SPAIN

Belgrade, 17 March 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II has conveyed his congratulations to the newly elected Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain Mr. Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero.

“Please accept my sincere congratulations on being elected the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Spain. For decades now Spain has been an example of how successfully democracy can transform a country to the benefit of all its citizens. Spain is one of the most important countries in Europe, and its stability is of utmost importance for our entire continent. I am convinced the new Government will continue to promote the struggle for global peace, human rights and democracy.

It is also my wish that the relations between our two countries maintain the course of traditional friendship” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his letter of congratulations.
