LETTER TO THE SERBIAN PATRIARCH PAVLE

Belgrade, 18 March 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II sent a letter today to the Serbian Patriarch Pavle regarding the escalation of violence and ethnic clashes in Kosovo and Metohia that have spread to Serbia.

“It was with outrage and anxiety that I received the news of the violence that has spread from Kosovo and Metohia to Serbia. I most strongly condemn every form of violence, particularly the one inspired by religious hatred. Desecrating the places of worship, regardless of the religion, burning down the churches and mosques, is a crime that must be stopped by all means, and the perpetrators most severely punished” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his letter.
