LETTER TO THE HEAD OF UNMIK HARRI HOLKERI

Belgrade, 18 March 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II has sent a letter to the head of UNMIK Mr. Harri Holkeri, condemning the escalation of ethnic clashes in Kosovo and Metohia.

“As you know, violence that broke out in Kosovo and Metohia is spreading, taking its toll in human lives and destruction of cultural monuments protected by the UNESCO. I most strongly condemn every form of violence, particularly the one inspired by religious hatred.

I appeal to you to do everything in your power to stop the violence, to help in deploying the KFOR troops to get out of their barracks and defend all life. The international community must take responsibility for the safety of all citizens of Kosovo and act swiftly to restore peace and order in this tormented region” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his letter.
