HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AT THE CONSECRATION OF THE FOUNDATION OF ST. MARKO CHURCH IN PINOSAVA

Belgrade, 12 April 2004 - HRH Crown Prince Alexander II attended today, on the second day of Easter, the consecration of the foundation of the new Church in Pinosava dedicated to the Saint Evangelist and Apostle Marko.

The consecration was performed by His Holiness the Serbian Patriarch Pavle with assistance of the local priests in the presents of the citizens of Pinosava, Belgrade and neighboring towns. In his speech His Holiness reminded about the sufferings of our people in Kosovo and Metohia, where numerous Serbian shrines were totally destroyed, and expressed his hope that the new church in Pinosava would be completed soon.

After that the gathered were addressed by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, who said:

“By building the church we build ourselves, and pass on the tradition to the future generations, just like our ancestors had passed it on to us. Our strength our those young people who are the future of this country and we must save them from temptations, provide them with chances for education and work. I hope we will work it out together and i also hope that we will gather soon again to celebrate the completion of the church”.

The ceremony of the consecration was attended by the Mayor of Vozdovac Municipality Mr. Stevan Radojevic, as well as the donors who helped the construction of the Church.
