THE CHANCELLERY OF
H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE Alexander II
OF YUGOSLAVIA
600 YEARS OF OUR CAPITAL CITY

Belgrade, 15 April 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II congratulated the Mayor of Belgrade, Mrs. Radmila Hrustanovic and all of its citizens the 600th anniversary of Belgrade being the capital city of our country.

“Six centuries of amazingly turbulent history have made Serbian first city a special place. Always on every map of the world, but too often the target of great powers, Belgrade has endured much more than some bigger and more famous world metropolises. It has survived because it is, like every great city of the world, eternal, but above all, because of the everlasting devotion of its inhabitants, the Belgraders, whose each new generation continues to cherish what is most precious – the unbreakable spirit of Belgrade!

To all the employees of the City Hall of Belgrade and all our citizens, I extend my wishes for the reputation of our capital to be unblemished, and for our Belgrade to keep being special, unique and its own, in the centuries to come” – emphasized the Crown Prince in his letter of congratulations.
