THE CHANCELLERY OF
H.R.H. CROWN PRINCE Alexander II
OF YUGOSLAVIA
THE DAY OF KRAGUJEVAC

Ambulance to the Clinical Center, hygiene supplies and school equipment to the Orphanage

Belgrade, 6 May 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine attended the celebration of the Day of the Municipality of Kragujevac, 6 May, St. George’s Day, and visited “Zasatava” company, Clinical Center and “Mladost” orphanage.

During this humanitarian visit, Their Royal Highnesses were accompanied by the Deputy Minister of Health Dr. Vasilije Antic, the Chairperson of the German Dentists and Doctors Association Mrs. Mima Andrejevic, and the member of the Health Board Dr. Vesna Pajevic.

Through the mediation of the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, the Clinical Center was delivered a “Ford” ambulance, the keys to which were handed over by HRH Crown Prince Alexander.

At the “Mladost” orphanage the children were delighted to receive school equipment, hygiene supplies, toys and candies.

The children excitedly listened to HRH Crown Princess Katherine who said: “I wish to say that you have many friends who are ready to help you. Sometimes they are near you, and sometimes they live in far away countries. You can always count on my family’s assistance, and it will never stop.”

Thanks to the humanitarian organization “Later Saint Day”, Mr. Morgan Harris and Mr. John Watson, as well as to many Serbian and Greek companies, these donations will reach those who need them most.

Their Royal Highnesses also visited a hairdresser’s salon that is a part of the project of support to the deprived students from Kragujevac, and that has been successfully operating for two years as the result of cooperation between “Christel Foundation” and the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine.

The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine was established in Belgrade in August 2001 soon after HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HRH Crown Princess Katherine returned to their homeland after more than fifty years of exile. The main task is to continue and expand the humanitarian activities started back in 1993 in London when Lifeline Humanitarian Organization was founded. Lifeline provides humanitarian help to all those in need regardless of religion or ethnic origin.

Today Lifeline humanitarian organization under patronage of HRH Crown Princess Katherine has its offices in New York, Chicago, Toronto, London and Athens, and the centre of all activities is in Belgrade, i.e. at the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
