JUMBO AIRCRAFT WITH 20 TONS OF HUMANITARIAN AID LANDED TODAY, SATURDAY, 08 MAY, AT 11.50 AM AT SURCIN BELGRADE AIRPORT

The continuation of excellent humanitarian support from Ambassadors for Children, a non-for-profit organization from the United States to the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine in Belgrade

Belgrade 8 May 2004. – An ATA L1011 jumbo aircraft landed at Belgrade airport today, May 8 at 11.50am, bringing humanitarian aid consisting of approximately 20 tons of needed aid to support the orphanages and refugee camps in Serbia. The help consists of food, clothing, mattresses, sheets, blankets, pillows, hygiene items, school supplies and toys.

Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Katherine warmly welcomed at Surcin Belgrade Airport the ATA L1011 jumbo Aircraft.

The aid is provided by Ambassadors for Children a non-for-profit organization that assists children all over the world, in cooperation with Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine. This donation is a result of the relationship and friendship established by HRH Crown Prince Alexander and HRH Crown Princess Katherine in October 2003 during their visit to Indianapolis. Mrs. Christel DeHaan the chairperson of the Christel House Foundation (www.christelhouse.org) invited Their Royal Highnesses. Through the mediation of Mrs. DeHaan Their Royal Highnesses met Mrs. Sally Brown - the “Ambassadors for Children” chairperson and general manager of the famous children’s Raily Hospital in Indianapolis.

Since then, Ambassadors for Children has had two exchanges in Serbia and in Indiana with doctors from Serbia and the United States. Through the great endeavour of the Foundation of

HRH Crown Princess Katherine, the delegation of Serbian doctors visited Indianapolis 11-19 January 2004 that resulted in establishing official cooperation between the Indiana and Belgrade University Schools of Medicine. A document was signed on mutual cooperation, students, doctors and professors' exchange, joint research projects and further education of our doctors in America. The joint project between the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine and Ambassadors for Children also obtained $1 million dollars worth of medical equipment and supplies that will be delivered over one month to the hospitals all around the country.

WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK BELGRADE AIRPORT FOR THEIR COOPERATION, CUSTOMS HEAD OFFICE AND CUSTOM POLICE AT THE BELGRADE, RED CROSS SERBIA FOR STORAGE SPACE, AMBASSADORS FOR CHILDREN FOR GREAT HELP AND ATA AIRLINE COMPANY.
