FORMAL RECEPTION FOR SERBIAN AND GREEK DOCTORS

Belgrade, 9 June 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a reception at The White Palace in Dedinje tonight, for over 170 physicians from our country and Greece, the participants of the symposium taking place at the University Pediatric Clinic.

The Symposium is dedicated to cardio-pulmonary reanimation, with a series of lectures on current trends in pediatrics and neonatology. The lecturers at the symposium are renown Greek pediatrician and the head of Intensive Care unit of Aglaia Kiriakou children’s hospital Dr. Papadatos, the head of Intensive Care unit of Pediatric Hospital Aia Sofia Dr. George Briasulis and the head of Neonatal Intensive Care unit of the Alexandropolis University Hospital Dr. Ioannis Sigalas.

The guests were welcomed by HRH Crown Prince Alexander who thanked the doctors for their efforts in taking care of our nation’s health, and also thanked the donors for their aid in medical equipment for our hospitals.

The present were then addressed by Dr. Papadatos who pointed out that the PNOE Foundation has for the first time assisted someone outside Greece and expressed his hope there will be more joint activities with the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine in the future.

“Ever since I first met Princess Katherine I have been fascinated by her energy and deeply touched by her care for the people of Serbia.”

After that the present were addressed by Dr. Laycock who pointed out the great efforts of the Princess and her Foundation as an inspiration to everybody to keep on the conducting of humanitarian activities.

Greeting the present, HRH Crown Princess Katherine thanked to our doctors for their heroic efforts to help the sick despite the difficult circumstances they work in, and to the Greek friends for their understanding and great assistance.

“We must all work together to rebuild this nation and make it again what it used to be.”

The symposium organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, the University Pediatric Clinic and the PNOE Foundation from Greece, is taking place from 7 to 10 June 2004. This the continuation of the cooperation established in February 2003 between the PNOE and the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine in solving the issues regarding the children in intensive care units.
