Twenty eighth NGO MEETING AT THE WHITE PALACE

PRIORITIES OF THE MINISTRY OF LABOUR, EMPLOYMENT AD SOCIAL POLICY – SECTORS FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND FAMILY, AND PROTECTION OF THE PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Belgrade 10 June, 2004 – In organization of The Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine today in The White Palace at Dedinje, the meeting was held with NGO, representatives of the Government of Serbia, UN agencies and Red Cross organizations. Despite his many commitments HRH Crown Prince Alexander joined the meeting.

Assistant of the Minister for the sector of Children and the family protection Mrs Slavka Lakicevic and the Assistant of the Minister in the sector of protection for persons with disabilities Mrs Sladjana Markovic briefly presented the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Policy, and after that explained in details their priorities on which these sectors are working and need urgent assistance.

HRH Princess Katherine stressed that the needs of different categories of our people are still great, and that the best solution would follow only as a result of cooperation and team work of all present.

As a surprise, at the end of the meeting HRH Prince Alexander and HRH Princess Katherine invited all to attend the play ‘’Sleeping Beauty’’, performed at the hall of The White Palace after the meeting, by the children from Nadalj’s ‘’Ladybird’’ kindergarten.

The next meeting has been scheduled for 10 August, 2004 at 10 AM.
