HRH CROWN PRINCE ALEXANDER II AND CROWN PRINCESS KATHERINE VISIT
TRADITIONAL SUMMER CAMP “OUR SERBIA” AT TARA MOUNTAIN
Belgrade, 13 July 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine visited today the traditional summer camp and the School of Friendship organized by the humanitarian organization “Our Serbia” at Tara mountain. This camp hosts 180 children who are the recipients of “Our Serbia’s” assistance, and their peers from the Diaspora. The young ones from Serbia, Montenegro and Republika Srpska, this year will again be joined by the children from Serbian enclaves in Kosovo and Metohia. Part of the manifestation’s program was the children’s book fair, organized by the “Politika” newspaper, and officially opened by its general manager, Mr. Darko Ribnikar. Academician Mr. Matija Beckovic delivered this year’s awards of “Our Serbia” to the most talented children. Beside Their Royal Highnesses, the ceremony was attended by the prominent public figures. “It a great pleasure for my wife and me to be with you here again, at the beautiful Tara. You will have a lot of time to play, but I advise you to learn something as well. Sport is very important for your growing up, and Tara has plenty of possibilities. I wish you a lot of joy and I invite you to gather here next year, too” – said the Crown Prince. The Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine has been successfully cooperating for four years with the humanitarian organization “Our Serbia”. As a result of this, Their Royal Highnesses were awarded with the plaque “Our School of Friendship”. This year the summer camp received hygiene supplies from the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine, and thanks to one of the donors and the friend of the Foundation, Mr. Spiridon Pirgidis (general manager of “Delyug – Delta Ice-cream Company”), daily supply of ice creams was provided for the children who are staying at the camp. From the very beginning of the summer camp “Our Serbia”, the Foundation has been actively involved in the projects with the aim of assisting the children.
