CONFERENCE AT THE WHITE PALACE “LOCAL FOOD AND DRINKS EXPORT INCREASING POSSIBILITIES”

Belgrade, 27 July 2004 – TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine were the hosts to the Conference “Local Food and Drinks Export Increasing Possibilities”, at The White Palace today.

The Conference was organized by the Foundation of HRH Crown Princess Katherine in cooperation with Mr. David Kearney and Mrs. Joy Kearney, the managers of the UK-based consulting firm OPDC (Organizational and Personal Development Consultants). The Conference’s aim was to connect local companies with the international market, and among its participants were Mr. Ljubisa Jovanovic Deputy Minister of International Economic Relations, Ms. Jasna Matic, Director of SIEPA (Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency), Mr. Remer Lane, Business Development Advisor of SEDP (Serbia Enterprise Development Project), Mr. Bosko Maravic, Business Facility Coordinator of OPTO International, Mr. Mazen Fawzy, Mercy Corps Country Director for Serbia, and the representatives of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.

“I am certain that the Conference “Local Food and Drinks Export Increasing Possibilities” will greatly contribute to connecting our companies with the international market, which is the way forward to create jobs and promote the stabilization of our economy. Our home is always open for all people and for those who wish to assist in the economic recovery of our country” – said the Crown Prince in his addressing to the present.

At the end of the Conference, the representatives of our companies had an opportunity to put forward their questions to Ms. Liz Bowles, regional manager of EFFP (English Food and Farming Partnership) through a conference call.

After the Conference, TRH Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine hosted a reception at The White Palace for all the participants of the Conference.
