FAREWELL TO YOUNG BASKETBALL TEAM

Belgrade, 28 July 2004 – HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine said farewell to a group of children traveling today to International Children’s Games in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.

A group of ten children, aged 12 to 14 will represent our country’s national basketball team at the International Children’s Games in USA. The games are held under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee from 29 July - 2 August 2004 in Cleveland, Ohio. 3000 children aged 12-15 from 50 countries and 150 cities from all over the world will compete in 10 sport disciplines. This year the games are expected to set an attendance record.

The participation of our children is supported by the Ministry of Education of Serbia, the Municipality of Belgrade and the Foundation of HRH Princess Katherine. The children are accompanied by 3 escorts.

HRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Princess Katherine said farewell to our children national team today and wished them good luck with suitable gifts.
