THE WHITE PALACE ROOF RECONSTRUCTION BEGINS

Belgrade, 10 August 2004 – One of our largest construction companies, “Energoprojekt Holding”, has commenced the works on reconstruction of the roof of The White Palace in Dedinje.

“Energoprojekt’s” team of experts is going to be involved in revitalization of The Royal Compound, which means survey of the existing structures, drawing the projects and supervision of the works.

The reconstruction of The White Palace roof has begun, which means significant repairs in the roof construction and the glass lantern, particularly having in mind that constant and big amounts of rain have been endangering numerous paintings and other art work, that together with The Palaces itself, represent our major cultural heritage. Among several companies specialized in roof reconstruction, “Izolacija Holding A.D.” from Belgrade has been chosen as the most favorable contractor, at the public contest.

Whishing to preserve The Royal Compound for the future generations, TRH Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine, have bean putting great efforts into reconstruction of The Royal Compound for over three years now. After The White Palace roof reconstruction, other structures in The Compound will also be renewed, in the list of the priorities, which will greatly contribute to making it possible for our and foreign visitors to enjoy the beauty of The Royal and The White Palace.

This endeavor is the continuation of the cooperation between The Royal Family and “Energoprojekt Holding”, after successful completion of the caesarean section operation room in the Clinic for Gynecology and Obstetrics at the Clinical Centre of Serbia, that proudly carries the name of HRH Crown Princess Katherine.
